The Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers put his wide receiver on a catch and repeat in the fourth quarter, which led to a touchdown.
The davante adams contract is a topic that has been circulating around the NFL. Aaron Rodgers put Davante Adams on catch and repeat in the win over the Bengals.
CINCINNATI, OHIO — It’s a topic for another day why Davante Adams isn’t the highest-paid receiver in the NFL. After the Green Bay Packers receiver caught pass after catch against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, the question that must be addressed is this:
How does he manage to keep doing it?
Play after play, and so forth. Game after game after game. Season after season, after season.
Another opponent found virtually no way to stop Aaron Rodgers on another day when nearly everyone in the stadium understood where he intended to go with the football.
• The record the Ravens may set on Monday Night Football The Colts’ general manager is patient, but the fans want them to win. Slay’s spectacular week comes to a close with two INTs. Darnold of the Panthers must improve under pressure. Why has Adams had so many big days for the Packers?
In the Packers’ improbable 25-22 overtime win, Adams caught 11 receptions for 206 yards and a score, including five failed field goals in the closing minutes of regular and overtime. It was the first time a Packers receiver had over 200 yards in a game in over seven years, and it was the team’s first 200-yard receiving game since Jordy Nelson’s 209 yards against the Jets in Week 2 of 2014.
“I told at least three people outside the building — talking to relatives, one of my cousins, talking to my wife,’I feel like this might be my career high this game,’” Adams said. “Either I’m clairvoyant or I know what I’m talking about,” says the narrator.
Adams’ psychic abilities may not be limited to clairvoyance.
Adams also stated that he had the sensation that he has done the same thing previously during several of his catches. Like when he caught a 20-yard pass with seconds left in regulation to set up a game-winning field goal. It reminded him of what occurred in San Francisco two weeks before, when Adams caught a pass over the middle to set up Mason Crosby’s 51-yard game-winning field goal. Crosby missed from 51 yards this time, but…

“I made the decision to get down and give up,” Adams said. “Obviously, we didn’t go through with that one, but he came through in the end.”
It wouldn’t have happened if Adams hadn’t been targeted 16 times, which is 12 more than Rodgers’ next-highest-targeted receiver.
Adams, a four-time Pro Bowler, established a club record with 115 receptions last season and tied for the most receiving touchdowns (18) in a season. He became the first player in NFL history to have 100 receptions and 18 touchdowns in the process.
In the first five weeks of the season, Adams has two double-digit catch games and three triple-digit receiving yard games. Adams leads all NFL receivers in catches (42), targets (61) and yards (61) through Sunday’s games (579).
While Rodgers claimed Adams no longer surprises him, they did connect on a deep pass in the fourth quarter for Adams’ season-long reception of 59 yards.
“Even when you know I’m going to him,” Rodgers said, “he finds a way to get open and makes a huge grab and breaks a tackle.” “He’s a one-of-a-kind player. Over the past couple of years, we’ve seen certain coverages we hadn’t anticipated or run those plays against. I hadn’t experienced that kind of response on a play since I was at Arizona in 2009.”
Adams wasn’t the only one who thought it was going to be a huge day.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur said, “I could feel him early and I could tell.” “He’s a man who’s eager for the game, and he’s showing why.” It doesn’t matter that he has people wrapped all over him. He always manages to pull it off. There’s a reason he has a perfect score in Madden. He’s a true baller. There isn’t anybody greater than him, in my opinion. We’re lucky to have him.”
Before the season, Adams said that he deserved to be the highest-paid receiver in the NFL. Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst agreed, but they couldn’t agree on precisely what constitutes the highest-paid employee.
Is Adams willing to let that to happen in Green Bay, where Rodgers’ status is unclear beyond this season?
“It’s time to simply…” Adams began, but then paused. “Right now, I’m simply collecting balls and having a good time.” That’s not something I’m thinking about right now. That’s how it usually happens, but that’s not my primary focus while I’m out there.”
He’s too preoccupied with anticipating his big games and experiencing déjà vu in the midst of them to notice.
