Battlefield 2042’s open beta began yesterday, and it’s on a very tight schedule: it’s now in early access, will become fully open tomorrow, and will end on Sunday. So yet, only EA Play members and presale buyers have access, but the general public will be able to see it on October 8th. This is true across all platforms, including PC, current-gen Xbox and PlayStation consoles, and last-gen Xbox and PlayStation consoles.

Participants may test out Boris, a Russian engineer with an SG-36 in his armory; Casper, a South African specialist in concealment and long-ranged assaults; Falck, a competent German doctor who specializes in Support; and Mackay, a Canadian outdoorsman and nomad with a Grapple Gun.”
Capacity difficulties reportedly hampered yesterday’s debut – a familiar tale in the online gaming industry, of course – but EA claims it’s still working on server issues. In its day-one dev blog, the business states, “We’re on pace for a global launch on November 19th, and early access on November 12th, when players will have full access to All-Out Warfare, Portal, and Hazard Zone.”
